Privacy policy

Desi Tadka is operated by Amrin K Enterprises Ltd (“Desi Tadka”, “we”, “us”) at 10-2006 Robertson Rd, Ottawa, ON, and 1610 Stittsville Main St, Ottawa, ON. This policy explains how we handle the personal information you give us when you order through desitadkafood.ca/ordering or any subdomain we operate.

• Contact details: name, email, phone number you enter at checkout.
• Order details: what you ordered, when, from which kitchen, pickup vs delivery, delivery address (delivery only), notes you add.
• Payment data:handled directly by Clover (our payment processor). We never see or store your full card number — only Clover's payment ID and the amount.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device size, pages visited — collected via standard server logs and cookies.

• To take, cook, and deliver your order.
• To send you order confirmations, tracking links, and status updates.
• To let you reorder by phone number (we look up your most recent order to repopulate the cart).
• To send promotional emails — only if you opted in at checkout. You can unsubscribe from any such email.
• To prevent fraud and meet Canadian tax / accounting obligations.

We share the minimum necessary with these service providers:

• Clover — payment processing (PCI-DSS compliant). See clover.com/privacy-policy.
• Uber Direct / DoorDash Drive — courier dispatch for delivery orders. We share your name, phone, and delivery address. The courier sees these in their app.
• Clover POS — pushes your order to our in-store terminal so the kitchen prints the ticket.
• Resend — sends order confirmation emails on our behalf.
• Meta WhatsApp Business — sends order updates to your WhatsApp number.
• Cloudflare — hosts the website and database.

We do not sell your information to third parties for marketing.

• Order records: 7 years (CRA recordkeeping requirement).
• Customer email + phone: until you ask us to delete.
• Server logs: 30 days, then automatically purged unless retained for fraud investigation.

As a Canadian resident, under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can request:

• A copy of the personal data we hold on you
• Correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion of your data (subject to our 7-year tax retention requirement)
• Withdrawal of marketing consent

We use a single cookie / localStorage entry called dt_cart_v1that holds your cart contents while you browse. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, this policy will be updated and you'll see a banner.

Desi Tadka is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

When we change this policy, we'll update the “last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be emailed to customers who've opted in to marketing.
